The Club announced today that it has waived defender Kevin Goldthwaite.
Goldthwaite, who was acquired from Toronto FC in exchange for defender Todd Dunivant on June 27, 2007, has not featured in a game for New York this season due to injury. During his time with New York, Goldthwaite appeared in 54 regular season matches, scoring two goals and two assists.
New York is next in action on Sunday, August 8, when it travels to Chicago to take on the Fire at TOYOTA Park at 9:00 PM ET (TV: ESPN2, ESPN Deportes; Radio: WQBU 92.7 FM). The club returns home on Aug. 11, hosting Toronto FC at Red Bull Arena at 7:30 PM (TV: MSG; Radio: WQBU 92.7 FM). For tickets, call 1-877-RBSOCCER or CLICK HERE.

good luck Goldy. it’s kinda sad but completely understandable. sucks that injuries have been holding him back so much the last few years, all the best to him regardless!

very sad about this move :/!! 1 of our great deffenders gets cut cause of a horrible injury =[! but i thought we dint need any cuts because sassno and nielsen are on he season ending injury list, or is NY planing to bring in ethier a replacment or a diffrent player, if so i would hope its the brazilian trialist we had for the Barcleys thing :] or perhaps some1 better
