Red Bulls vs. FC Dallas: Match Day

The Red Bulls host one of the hottest MLS teams in FC Dallas on an equally hot night at Red Bull Arena.  Coming off a loss away to Colorado, New York is looking to make a statement that they are still a contender for MLS Cup against last season’s runner’s up.  The Red Bulls will also have to contend with Brek Shea, who has been in amazing form for the Hoops in 2011. 4′ Consecutive offsides calls as each side tries to play the long ball.

5′ Agudelo gets some space at the top of the area, but his shot goes right to Hartman.

9′ On a restart, Daniel Hernandez sends the entry ball over everyone and out of bounds.

16′ Shea whips a cross in the area, but it carries through and out of bounds.

17′ Richards’ speed has provided some opportunities thusfar, but his touch has been a little strong.

21′ Richards again is dangerous, but holds the ball too long and is dispossessed.

26′ Solli sends in a great ball, but it goes through a number of players and out the other side untouched.

35′ Most of the match being played in the middle of the park as both sides are probing for a weakness in the defense.

36′ Ballouchy finds Henry at the top of the area, but his shot is blocked.

39′ GOAL NY!! Agudelo one-times a Richards cross up and over Hartman to give NY a 1-0 lead!

45′ 2 minutes of stoppage.

HALFTIME: NY leads FC Dallas, 1-0.

HALFTIME: FC Dallas sub: Guarda for Avila.

46′ And we’re back.  No changes for NY.

50′ Yellow to Richards for a foul on Benitez.

51′ Goal FCD.  Chaves finds space in the are and his shot deflects past Rost.  1-1.

53′ Chaves nearly gets another, but Rost is there to stuff the point blank chance.

54′ Richards pings the post from outside the area.  Nearly regained the lead there.

59′ Yellow to Ream for a foul on Chaves.

60′ FCD sub: Wiedeman for Alexander.

62′ Chaves sends in a dangerous ball for Shea, but he can’t get it on frame.

70′ Nearly a handball in the FCD area on Ihemelu, but the ref doesn’t agree with the Red Bulls’ protests.

71′ Miller has a go from distance, but its well wide.

78′ Goal FCD.  Chaves finds the ball alone in the area off a restart, and puts it past Rost.  2-1 FCD.

78′ Yellow to Guarda for a foul on Agudelo.

80′ Yellow to Richards.  His second so he is sent off and will miss the next MLS match.

80′ FCD sub: Jacobson for Villar.

82 NY sub: Albright for Ballouchy.

82′ Henry draws a foul just outside the area, but Marquez puts it just wide on the restart.

83′ Yellow to Jacobson for a foul on McCarty.

84′ GOAL NY!! Henry with a bit of individual brilliance to level the score at 2-2.

88′ Yellow to Agudelo for simulation.

90′ 3 minutes of stoppage.

90′ Corner for NY but nothing comes from it.

90+’ Agudelo nearls gets a clear chance, but is whistled for a handball.
