Hans Backe, Tim Ream and Dax McCarty preview the Red Bulls Wednesday evening match away to Colorado Rapids at Dick’s Sporting Goods Park (9:30 PM ET; MSG). New York travels to Colorado to face a Conor Casey-less Rapids team (he is out for the season with a ruptured Achilles tendon). The defending MLS Champion Rapids still boast Omar Cummings in the attack, and with the game at altitude, the match should test a New York side that is nearing full strength. Share your thoughts on the match in the comments section.

Drunk, and a little bit frustrated. Why cant people just wait a couple of months before we all jump on the doom and glom-train. (read: the state of the metrofanatic forum – sack backe – backe substitutes to late buhuu) I admit – i am a scandinavian following the team from abroad – so – my question is this: Why all this negativity? Is this a New York – thing? A proper team is buildt over time…… it takes time to gel. But i guess this i just the tone of the new world – the impatience…..

What a waste. A throw away game and a very effort. A joke. It was only a small moment but I caught agudelo not hustling after a ball in the second half. Typified a horrid game.

season is not over yet but i am glad i did not buy season tickets. this is my second year as a redbull fan and if this is the product the front office wants people to see at Red Bull arena what a shame. If this sad play continues I hope the Cosmos do a better job. I will put up my redbull gear up for auction on ebay in 2013 if this continues.

The team has talent, but it also has serious problems. Without Rodgers the team is lost offensively, Agudelo is lost out there. He has a long long way to go. During the Broadcast Cangelosi was saying he doubted the same 11 would start the second half, what team has he been watching, Backe has showed complete lack of faith in making subs, this is what it is, lets hope this set of 12 or 13 players pick it up, he isnt playing anyone else. I defended Backe all year, gave him the benefit of the doubt during the Gold Cup, but 2 wins in the last 15 matches? We are supposed to be the best team in the East and one of the best in MLS, with 2 wins in the last 15, 6 wins in 22 matches, this is worse than people think. In any other country the coach would be out on the street looking for employment. This is embarrassing 2 wins in the last 15 matches, thats the sad reality.
I could care less about the meaningless Emirates Cup or the All-star game, I care about wins in the league and the open cup.

Hate to say I told you so, but a few weeks back I posted pretty much the same comment, and I believed you told me that Hans Backe was a quality coach, and that we couldn’t be so hard with him, because he was missing several players due to international play, but now I’m glad you agree with me “Stat Boy”. Glad you finally see that Hans Backe has to go, because our team is playing horrible, and it all rests on his shoulders.
July 22, 2011 at 12:20 PM
Yes, I gave him the benefit of the doubt, as players were missing etc. but thats not an excuse anymore, its all about results and I dont have a problem with admitting that Backe isnt getting the results.

Very fustrating game last night, we need Rogers back so bad. Should one player really make that much of a difference?
