Red Bulls vs. Sporting Kansas City: Post Match

In a physical match, the Red Bulls proved they can win playing nearly any style, as New York rode a Luke Rodgers goal to a 1-0 win, the club’s third straight clean sheet victory.  The win also kept the Red Bulls atop the Eastern Conference table heading into a big test away to Los Angeles Galaxy next week.  We caught up to the goal scorer, as well as Hans Backe, Dwayne De Rosario, and Joel Lindpere to get their thoughts.  Share your thoughts in the comments section.

Seven games, five shutouts, three game win streak, two total goals allowed. I would say that RBNY is sitting pretty right now.

Issues in the defensive midfield became apparent without Tainio in the second half. Robinson did an OK job there, might be a bit rusty, but his distribution left much to be desired. I hope Teemu’s injury is not too serious.

Saw Teemu at mee the team day. He seemed fine, and I heard it was a groin issue that had him taken out at the half. Very classy organization RBNY is, my fiancee and I had a great time.
