RED BULLS VS. SOUNDERS: PREVIEW

New York opens up its 2011 MLS season and begins its Eastern Conference Regular Season title defense on Saturday, hosting Seattle Sounders FC at Red Bull Arena at 7:30 PM ET (MSG, WADO 1280 AM).  While this is the season kickoff for the Red Bulls, the Sounders travel cross country on the heels of a 1-0 defeat home to Los Angeles Galaxy on Tuesday, so it will be interesting to see if that match helps or hinders the Seattle form.  With numerous new faces, it will be interesting to see who head coach Hans Backe selects for the 18, and even more interesting to see the eleven and the formation.  Expectations are high for the club and their supporters, so a positive result against a tough team (a side that handed NY one of its only home losses last season) could set them off on the right foot.  Take a viewing of this match preview and share your thoughts on the match in the comments section:

Coundoul in goal; Marquez and Ream as central defenders; Miller as left back (if healthy; if not then Borman); Tainio as right back; Tchani as d-mid; Richards right mid; Lindpere as left mid; Gunnar Solli as center mid; Henry as forward; Agudelo as forward. Subs – Rodgers (if healthy); Ballouchy; and last sub either Robinson, Rooney or Hertzog depending on what the need is. Let’s go Red Bulls!!!

    • Starks Says:

lol….mkkayyy go root for JPA next season when he is back in Colombia with whatever dirt team he goes too….

    • el Says:

If your heart left with Angel than you were never a true fan of the team, and thats fine so go root for your player in LA, a fan of a TEAM, puts the TEAM over the individual. Im glad Angel was let go, he was awful for us the second half of the season, his lack of mobility killed the team.
