Welcome to the Baltimore Convention Center for the 2011 MLS SuperDraft!  RBR is here on the scene to cover all things New York Red Bulls for you, our loyal supporters.  We will give all the information when we make our picks and a little about who we drafted, and will provide a link to the live stream of the second and third rounds, as well a live chat generated by MLSSoccer.com.  The draft begins at 12 noon ET on ESPN2 (covering round one).  More after the jump.11:34 AM ET: We are about 30 minutes from the first pick, and the South Ward has just entered the room here at the Baltimore Convention Center.  They are singing their hearts out as always.

11:55 AM ET: The Commish is addressing the crowd now.  Praises Red Bull Arena.

12:01: PM ET: Vancouver is on the clock!!

12:15 PM ET: A bit of a surprise with Salgado going #1, but Nagbe and Kitchen at #2 and #3 are the easy choices.  LA and TFC just made the first trade with Chad Barrett going West in exchange for future considerations.

12:26 PM ET: Akron players going early and often.  They must have been pretty good this year (sarcasm).

1:30 PM ET: At #13, the Red Bulls go with Penn St. F Corey Hertzog. (MLS Combine footage of Corey)

Still believe we need a creative midfielder to do better this year,as long
as we don’t get that player we are going to have a problem.

I think we are in pretty decent shape. Not sold on the back line though.
Up front is a bit inexperienced(exception: Henry, now with Salou leaving.)

Whats the the story with kassell? Are we going to sign him if we do who is going to be release?

  9. rbfan Says:

red bulls should sign their academy product Hot before he gets away. he is currently training with a german team who look like they actually might want to sign him. with concerns in the backline that need addressing, i don’t think NY should hesitate, grab him now.
