It was the first USMNT callups for Juan Agudelo and Tim Ream, but both players acquitted themselves well, as Ream earned the start and played a solid center back, and Agudelo came on as a sub just past the hour and scored the game-winner with a nifty one-two with Mikkel Diskerud.  The 17 year-old, wearing #17, broke former Red Bull Jozy Altidore’s mark to become the youngest USMNT player to score a goal, ironically in the same competition that Altidore set the mark a few years ago.  The connections are eerie.  Several videos after the jump:

Here is the goal:

Here is Agudelo with Jeremy Schapp afterwards:

Post match reaction from Ream, Agudelo, Bradley, Guzan, and Lichaj:

  4. Starks in Tampa Says:

Lets hope we can capatilize on the field while these two young studs are still with RBNY before they move on to Europe….

  5. Lee Says:

Alex the only reason why the RedBulls didnt sign both player was because they didnt want to pay the players the money they was asking for …..Matt wanted a GA ……. and Ogun wanted more than the mim … and when the Redbulls didnt give them the money Matt when to College and Ogun want and play over seas ……….but I was reading something where Ogun said he might come back to the MLS and play for the RedBulls …… And with the way Matt is playing this year he will earn that GA and get paid ….The kid have 8G and 9A for Maryland in 18 games

  6. Lee Says:

Alex, Ogunbiyi dont need working papers to play in MLS he was born in Rochester, New York He couldnt get his working papers to play in england at Leeds United…….
