MLS CUP: WHAT IT MEANS TO ME – CARLOS MENDES

Today, NewYorkRedBulls.com releases the second in a series of videos ahead of the home leg of the team’s Eastern Conference Semifinal series with the San Jose Earthquakes.  As the Red Bulls begin their quest for MLS Cup, we explore some of the great stories that the team presents, in their own words.

We continue the MLS Cup: What it means to me series with defender Carlos Mendes.  The Mineola, NY native has been with New York since 2005, and has cemented himself in the center of the Red Bulls back line this year in one of the best comeback stories in MLS in 2010.  Playing in front of his family and friends on a regular basis has pushed Mendes to be the best player he can be, and he is working hard to make the team’s dream of hoisting the MLS Cup at the end of the month a reality.

In the coming days, check back for more videos in this series.

What a classy guy. I’m really happy that he found a starting role for this team and hopefully NY keeps him around for a long time.
