RED BULLS VS. REVOLUTION: POST MATCH

Goals from Dane Richards and Joel Lindpere capped off a historic regular season for the Red Bulls, as New York completed a worst to first run with a 2-0 win over rival New England.  The win clinches the club’s first Eastern Conference Regular Season title since 2000, and give the Red Bulls home field advantage throughout the playoffs.  It was a festive atmosphere at Red Bull Arena, as New York closed out the regular season with Fan Appreciation Night.  And there is little the fans appreciated more than the full three points!!  We got reaction from head coach Hans Backe and players Richards, Lindpere and Juan Pablo Angel following the win.  Share your thoughts in the comments section.

Can we now officially admit Dane Richards is one of the top wingers in MLS and he is a top-notch player. Can we please finally admit that the majority of us were wrong.

great win for all of us. GO REDBULLS! just disappointed to see so many empty seats. i hope the following year the playoff schedule will be held on the weekend. imagine a super soccer saturday and sunday. perhaps the redbulls or the league might consider regular season games on saturday’s at 8 local time. it just seems that more people show up if the games are played in this time slot

by the way, has last night’s victory got any local news coverage?

Great game with a fun spirit. I was a bit down when I heard that the return leg for the first round is on a Thursday, but I hope that the crowd is larger for Nov. 4 and the EC final! If we end up playing the Quakes, the back four better be ready for Wondo, who is on a real tear these days.

we could end up playing Seattle, if Seattle loses & both SJ and Colorado win, we would have to play Seattle. I DON’T LIKE THAT!
