After last night’s result in Chicago, the Red Bulls aim to solidify their hold on the top spot in the Eastern Conference as New York hosts Salt Lake at Red Bull Arena.  The Red Bulls look to even the score with the defending champs, as RSL took a 1-0 win at Rio Tinto Stadium earlier this season.  RSL will be at relatively full strength, as they were not effected by international callups.  The Red Bull will be without Bouna Coundoul and Dane Richards.  Lineups and running commentary after the jump.

Big game – Big game. First MLS season for me, and i must say, IN A WAY, that RSL is the team that has impressed me the most, of all the contenders for the MLS cup. They are solid, and very well organized. Good luck RBNY. Good lineup btw, but this one is gonna be difficult to crack.

  3. jmp Says:

@21 We need a little more movement in out final attacking play – but the RSL covers space very well, and close down NY pretty good. Even game.

  4. jmp Says:

@34 We will probably see Lindpere on the right, and Henry more up front – during the game, but then again this is all about the RESULT. A win would be massive. Very good game – high pace.

First half had everything – excluding a red card and a goal. We look the more dangerous team, but RSL were unlucky not to score a goal. They don’t need much space/time to create & make a decent finish. RSL seems very hard to break down. Could go either way, really… 🙂

  7. jmp Says:

@ . Hard to break down..nothing new. Miller & Albright provide good crosses …mostly. We need more players in the box…quicker..

  8. jmp Says:

Sadly..we are not performing as well this half.

  9. karbaz Says:

Tim Ream is Man of the Match, this kid is an absolute beast. Rookie of the year, just give it to him already.
