The club announced today that it has acquired veteran defender Carey Talley from D.C. United in exchange for a conditional second round 2011 MLS SuperDraft selection.  Talley, 34, has appeared in 15 games for United this season, making 13 starts, and recorded one goal over 1,141 minutes of action. The defender rejoined United, the club he began his career with, this season after spending the previous two seasons with Chivas USA.  CLICK HERE TO READ FULL RELEASE.

What do you think of the trade?  Does it provide experienced coverage at right back, a spot where there isn’t a lot of depth for NY with Jeremy Hall being out injured?  Does his MLS Cup experience bring another veteran presence to a locker room poised for a playoff push?  Share your thoughts in the comments section.
