RED BULLS DROP 1-0 DECISION TO RSL

After giving up a Fabian Espindola goal four minutes into the game, the Red Bulls regrouped at halftime and were more threatening in the second half. However, Real Salt Lake’s defense, led by goalkeeper Nick Rimando, who denied Juan Pablo Angel twice, was able to stay firm and helped the hosts earn the three points, as they won, 1-0.

New York maintains its second place position in the Eastern Conference at 37 points. We caught up with head coach Hans Backe and forwards Thierry Henry and Angel after the match:

Very frustrating game, we lacked confidence. Sutton in my opinion made quite a few good saves, Henry and Angel were stale though. I know it is high altitude stadium, but still the play offs are around the corner. We need a better strategy, I still know we have potential.

In Richards absence we really saw his value. His speed and playmaking was really missing. We had a lot of trouble with the high pressure too. Was Borman to blame or has Rafa already become that important?
