After a month away from Red Bull Arena for MLS matches, New York returns home to take on rival DC United.  New York is on a four match unbeaten streak, and will look to maintain their cushion over Toronto, who won earlier today, and stay within striking distance of Columbus, who take on the Dynamo is Houston at 8:30 PM ET.  The Atlantic Cup is on the line as the Red Bulls look to capture the trophy for the first time since 2003.  A New York win or draw gives the Red Bulls the cup, but they face an improved United site than the one they defeated, 2-0, at RFK earlier this season.  After losing eight of their first nine matches, DC has posted a 2-1-2 record in its last five.  New York Red Bulls:

Subs: Sutton, Tchani, Miller, Sassano, Petke, Chinn, Kandji

DC United:

Subs: Hamid, Cristman, Morsink, Talley, Khumalo, Moreno, Rice

how do i join the Red Bull reader staff?

  3. BC-Sec.130 Says:

I joined the supporters at El Pastors, they could not have been better, The team sucked, what good is it going to do to add another striker(Henry) when we can’t get the ball to him, save the money and get a good mid-fielder( no Neilson for 8 weeks!)

    • lou Says:

Soler has been trying to add a third DP, one that would be in addition to thierry henry. Word is that this player is adept at passing. Backe and co are trying. In past years I’ve been critical of the team, but this year is different. I’m not going to hate. let’s see how this team plays after the transfer window opens. Neilson being hurt really sucks though. we lose him and get kandji, so -1 for that.

  4. Ken Says:

I totally agree BC-Sec.130 you really know the game. You cannot blame the players up front when besides Linpere you have no midfield. UBI was horrendous tonight and just could not control the ball and Stammler got really tired.
