A good result for the Red Bulls considering the conditions (high winds, heavy rain, altitude) and the tough opponent. The Red Bulls fought back well after Omar Cummings’ 15th minute opening tally and were rewarded with Juan Pablo Angel’s ninth goal of the season. New York had a few chances in the second half with Dane Richards forcing Matt Pickens to make a key save right after the intermission. Colorado poured it on later on in the half with Mehdi Ballouchy getting the closest when he hit the woodwork, but New York’s defense did well and both teams left with a point.

We caught up with Red Bulls head coach Hans Backe, Angel and defender Tim Ream after the match:

Really impressed with the Red Bulls this evening and the general quality of play in this game; one of the best MLS games I have ever seen.

A solid overall Red Bulls team effort in which everyone deserves credit – Condoul, Borman, Mendes, Ream, Albright, Stammler, Ubiparapovic, Tchani, Lindpere, Angel and Richards. Borman struggled with Casey at first but played better as the game went along. Condoul came up with some great saves. Great Angel goal on the Ubiparapovic corner kick. I love the pairing of Ubiparapovic, Lindpere and Tchani in the midfield. The fact that the quality of play didn’t diminsh with the rain and wind is a credit to the players and coaching staff.

It’s late but I wanted to give kudous to the team on a great job!!!! We will be ready to cheer you on next Saturday evening!!!

We REALLY struggled early, but recovered…and finally held on for dear life.

Overall a well earned pt in tough conditions(alt. as well.) Good Job Bulls…but now BEAT D.C.!

Goo point. Great job by the team to hold on for the tie considering the conditions and the history we have in respect to this team, this venue, and this date.

I thought Borman had a rough game. Cummings speed really caused him problems throughout the game, but he did adjust fairly well as the game progressed. ITchani continues to grow on me, but he MUST get the ball of this feet a little quicker. I also thought Sinisa had a rough game as well. He was at fault for that goal and just didn’t really seem “in sync” with the rest of the players the entire game.
