The Red Bulls look to extend their League winning streak to three tonight, when they take on the Kansas City Wizards in New York’s first MLS match since June 5. It is a hot and sunny day at CommunityAmerica Ballpark with temperatures reaching in the mid 90s earlier today. Here is the lineup for your Red Bulls, who entered this weekend in a first-place tie with the Columbus Crew atop the Eastern Conference:

Substitutes: Sutton, Miller, Chinn, Wolyniec, Sassano, Petke, Garcia

A few notes to get you started:

– The team is coming off a 4-2 exhibition loss to Cruzeiro last Friday at Red Bull Arena. Juan Pablo Angel and Conor Chinn scored the goals for the hosts.

– One change from the Starting XI that played in a 1-0 win against Chivas USA on June 5 with Salou Ibrahim making his return, taking the place of John Wolyniec.

– Seth Stammler and Angel come into the match with two goals in the past three games.

– Roy Miller didn’t train fully at the beginning of the week due to a hamstring strain suffered on June 5 against Chivas, but practiced on Thursday and Friday and is available on the bench.

– New York brought 19 players on this trip. Jeremy Hall is a healthy scratch.

Kansas City, which last defeated the Philadelphia Union at home, 2-0, comes in with this lineup:

Smith———–Arnaud ———-Jewsbury——-Wolff

Substitutes: Kronberg, Besler, Aiyegbusi, Burnbury, Diop, Leathers, Zusi

Kickoff is at 8:30 PM and will be televised live on MSG, with Steve Cangialosi and Shep Messing calling the game! We’ll be doing live commentary on the match via our Twitter account (@newyorkredbulls). Enjoy the match!

  8. Harry Says:

Come om Ibraham, so close, we need a win. I am so depressed because our beloved national team lost in the world cup. I am still proud of the United States team.

  9. Eugene Says:

Nice! Great way to restart in the 2nd half of the season!!

  10. Tim F. Says:

Great job Red Bulls! Great team effort, solid defending and Salou and Angel did a great job of capitalizing on the Wizards’ defensive mistakes. Hats off to Coundoul, Albright, Mendes, Ream, Borman and Stammler on the shutout. Lindpere, Ubiparapovic and Tchani were very solid in the midfield and I hope the three of them start there again against the Rapids. Glad to see Ubiparapovic back after the hit he took; I thought he would be out longer.

Watching MLS after two weeks of World Cup soccer was a little hard on the eyes but I like the effort the Red Bulls put in. It was a great way to return back to MLS action after Ghana ousted the US for the second straight tournament.

Please beat the Islanders and have proven goal scorers on the bench just in case they are needed. I hope Nielsen is available soon.
