New York Red Bulls midfielder Carl Robinson underwent a successful procedure earlier today to repair a torn lateral meniscus in his right knee. The surgery was performed by Dr. Riley Williams at the Hospital for Special Surgery. Robinson will miss five to six weeks of action.

This is a setback to the central midfield envisioned by Hans Backe as the start of the season.  Who do you think will fill in for Robbo in his absence?  Also, once he returns, do you think he will be able to win back his starting spot?  Share your thoughts in the comments section.

Hopefully Tchani gets the nod, he is the most talented of our central midfielders. Hopefully he can develop in the mold of other great African central midfielders like Essian, Toure and Diarra.
