While we wait for training late this afternoon at Qwest Field, we have some injury news for you. Midfielder Carl Robinson did not travel with the squad to Seattle and is ruled out for tomorrow’s match against the Sounders. Robinson trained on Wednesday but he felt continued discomfort in his knee later.

On a more positive note, we have a couple of videos to share with you below. The first is a look back at the Red Bulls’ 1-0 win over the Chicago Fire at Red Bull Arena last Saturday:

Vodpod videos no longer available.

The second is a preview of the Red Bulls-Sounders FC game tomorrow, as we caught up with Coach Backe, defender Jeremy Hall and midfielder Joel Lindpere this week:

What are your thoughts on the Red Bulls’ first road game of the season? Who do you think Coach Backe should put out as a Starting XI? How do you think Robinson’s absence will affect the team tomorrow? Let us know!

  1. Cindy Says:

is Stammler healthy and did he travel?

  2. Jack Says:

    Hall, Petke, Ream, Miller

    Richards, Lindpere, Ubiparipovic, Da luz

    Angel, Kandji

  3. lou Says:

Is stammler playing tomorrow? if so then i’d like this lineup

    Da Luz——–Lindpere—–Stammler——Richards

We had nothing coming from the left side last game and da luz played well in preseason, i know he won’t get the start but i’d like to see him out there.

  4. emilio Says:

If da Luz is the best option Backe will play him there, so for us to say he should start is pretty ridiculous, being that we have seen very little of him and don’t have an understanding of what he can bring to the table now. da Luz needs time to be considered a viable option, Backe will play a rookie if he is ready(Ream). Im not going to say da Luz is our best option there because as the rest of you we havent seen much of him. Did you make the pre-season trip with the team Lou as you keep raving about the play of da Luz.

    • lou Says:

I’ve seen da luz play in college, i’ve seen da luz play in that preseason disney tournament, i’ve read what reporters have written about him at the combine and during the preseason trip. Any video i have seen of him playing has been impressive. Am i saying that he is the answer on the left side? no, he is still very young and has a lot to learn. What i said was that I’d like to see him at least play there this game. We have had absolutely nothing going on that left side in the attack. Any attack last game, came from the right side, are you comfortable with that? I’m allowed to have an opinion emilio, and so i gave it.

  5. Mr Fish Says:

I’m thinking a similar lineup to last week, but I’d save JPA on the turf. Give Agudelo the nod. A single point is a victory for us this week. A win, without Robbo, may be asking too much.

    • Queens_RBNY_Fan Says:

++1 to this Agudelo is our best bet this match, and if chinn can come in too that would be great, maybe they are not ready for a full 90 but definitly off the bench…

  6. emilio Says:

If Angel is healthy he is playing, they are only playing once a week.

  7. Scott Says:

I’d say starting someone else on the left midfield would be a good idea. Miller and Borman played alright together but they played the same exact style. I also agree with resting JPA if possible, I’d like to see more of Salou and Agudelo. Stammler is definitely better than Ubi but if he is not at full health it isn’t worth putting him on the Turf either.

  8. christian Says:

am i the only one that thinks we can win?not even the players seemed hopeful

    • Al3Ja Says:

Off CouRse we Will WiN!!!! Let’s Go REd BuLLs :0)

    • Cubillas Says:

You are not alone, Christian. I also think that we can take these guys. We have to go to Seattle to get some respect. It won’t be easy but we can do it. I think the players don’t want to sound too confident before the outcome of the game but sometimes you have to believe that you can win to make it happen.

  9. BIG T Says:

    I hope they win but I take a tie game I predict a 1-1

  11. soccer lou Says:

i dont think you should change it after a win but Borman did not
do a goodjob so i’ll bring Kanji down to the left and give Agudelo
a chance since he had a better pre-season than anybody why not
DaLuz i would love to see him in there but Backe seems to think that he’s not there yet let me know wassuup…………….

    • Almedin Says:

I agree with putting Kandji on the left but I see Agudelo as more of a late sub because he has major potential but still not enough experience to start.. I definitely like him though, but I see more of Salou teaming up with Angel

    • Tim F. Says:

I like this lineup. Subs would be: 1. Sutton, 2. Chinn, 3. Wolyniec, 4. Boyens, 5. Borman, 6. Stammler and 7. Tchani

  12. Chris F Says:

I think the Red Bulls will play good defense but will give up some goals. I am predicting a 2-2 tie and I think Ljungberg and Montero won’t have as much flexibility because of their minor injury

  13. BC-sec 130 Says:

Ljungberg is out, Kandji looked pretty bad last week, why not go with Chinn, we have nothing to lose!

  14. Tom Says:

sorry but whats the news on Salou? still waiting on papers?

  15. Tim F. Says:

    Let’s go Red Bulls!!!

  16. Dario Says:

I hope we can get something out of this game.

    Come on RED BULLS!

  19. Starks in Tampa Says:

here we go boys, HUGE game tonight, if we come out with a point it will be BIG. Seattle without a doubt one of the better teams in MLS and hopefully we have a better showing this year then last year….im pumped.

  20. Gabe A. Says:

Would love to see boyens get some time in the middle, maybe on the left, h has great insticts and his size would be nice to see at a trailing position.

  21. Gabe A. Says:

  22. BC-sec 130 Says:

love our back four, I think we blew it by not getting Jon Bush for our GK. With him we could have had the best defense in the league.
    BIG Test for us tonight
    GO BOYS!!

  23. emilio Says:

Ubi is a very good player, he adds a great deal to the attack, he is good on the ball and that helps and that is why Backe is high on him.
