Our sister club, Red Bull Salzburg needs one point to guarantee themselves a berth in the round of 32 in the Europa League.  They get their first shot today at 1: 00 PM on GolTV, hosting Lazio at an already sold out Red Bull Arena (the Salzburg one, not the one in Harrison).  Sitting on 12 points (4-0-0) through four rounds, the Red Bulls need a draw or a Villarreal draw or loss away to Sofia to gain a berth in the knockout stage.  In the first meeting, Salzburg went behind, 1-0, in Rome, but rallied or a 2-1 win in the second match of group play.  The Red Bull are currently tied with SK Rapid Vienna in the Austrian Bundesliga, but could be without top goalscorer Mark Janko, who did not play in Salzburg’s last match (a 0-0 draw with Vienna) due to injury.

good 2-1 win over Lazio, since Red Bull took over Salzburg they have upped the level of the club, when once they couldnt compete with top european league clubs like Lazio now they can. They have clearly become the top team in Austria, lets hope that translates to here, lets hope they use their scouting network to bring us some quality players. The take over has helped turn Salzburg into a solid club, lets hope they can be allowed to make moves to turn NY around.
