ROJAS GOES UNDER THE KNIFE

The club announced that midfielder Jorge Rojas underwent successful surgery to repair a torn meniscus in his left knee. Rojas is expected to be out for 3-4 months. The surgery was performed by Dr. Riley Williams at the Hospital for Special Surgery in New York City. Rojas sustained the injury during the team’s 1-1 tie against the New England Revolution on Sept. 18.

In his first full season with the team, Rojas played in 21 games, starting in 19, and recorded two goals and two assists. The Venezuelan international and former captain joined New York on July 17, 2008 from Venezuelan club, UA Maracaibo.
