Angel’s first strike against FC Dallas, a nice chip over Sala to put the Red Bulls up 1-0, has earned a Goal of the Week nomination.  The competition this week is going to be a close one, so every vote will count.  Make your voice heard.

maybe maybe not? sad to say this sell him to river plate after season and get a freddy montero type of player young fast and great ball controll

  2. j1m Says:

Freddy Montero has another Freddy to feed him the ball, and yet Angel is one goal behind without the DP midfielder.

    Keep Angel.

(tempting not to vote for Dave, his goal, while painful, was beautiful.)

Yeah but angel isn’t the same angel of years past. If he can play like he did last game, every game, than fine but otherwise his form has dimineshed. of coarse this is hypothetical, but If we could get a promising argentine from river plate in exchange for angel, not only would it not cost us that much money, but we could also sign a dp attacking mid to get him the ball.

      • j1m Says:

No doubt, he’s not the same Angel. That Angel was a top prem league striker. Don’t think we’d ever see on of those here. Not enough cash. But the older Angel certainly stacks up to the young Montero, anyday.

      • Lou Says:

Yea but the young montero has a tremendous upside and loads of potential, angel on the other hand is only going to get worse.

      • Mentz Says:

I think we all got spoiled when he scored a goal every other game. He was on ridiculous pace and its tough to keep that up at his age.

  3. Jason Says:

If we don’t get rid of angel then I guess we need a Ayer that can help him with scoring like blanco llubergh and other midfielder players that have awrness of the game but imagie how much money the organization would get from angel and then spend it on a great player that knows what he is doing on the field

  4. Dave Martinez Says:

River Plate would swoop up on Angel at the drop of a dime. Collect him with Gallardo and Ortega . . . VAMOS BOCA!

  5. Cindy Says:

nice to see a Red Bull in contention for goal of the week again!
