INSTALLATION OF UNDERGROUND DRAINAGE, TURF-HEATING SYSTEM BEGINS THIS WEEK AT RED BULL ARENA

SubAir_275x235

Installation of the state-of-the-art, underground field drainage and turf heating system for the playing field at Red Bull Arena will begin this week, just as the final roof panels protecting the entire 25,000-seat seating area move closer to being officially completed.

Once installed, the underground system, known as a SubAir System, will enable Red Bull Arena to fully control the field’s moisture content and enable growth and temperature management for what will be a natural Kentucky bluegrass playing surface even during cold-weather months. Installation is expected to be complete in eight to ten weeks.

The SubAir System applies vacuum pressure to accelerate the speed at which moisture moves from the playing surface through the soil system. At the same time, the system can apply pressure through the subsoil pipes to stimulate moisture movement through the soil during particularly dry periods, as well as regulate the core temperature of the soil throughout the year to help stimulate grass growth. (For graphics on the SubAir System, please contact the Red Bulls Communications staff)

The Landtek Group of Amityville, Long Island, leaders in athletic field construction for more than 20 years, will oversee installation of the cutting-edge system, which has so far been implemented at some of the world’s leading golf courses as well as at NFL and MLS stadiums in Seattle, Denver and Chicago. The system is also currently in place at Citi Field, the new home of the New York Mets.

Fans can already see the dynamic stadium as all of the lower roof panels are installed making the stadium visible from the air and highways. Red Bull Arena is now noticeable for fans passing through Harrison on Interstate 280 and from the New Jersey Turnpike, as well as from the air.

Red Bull the soccer team is now noticeable to anyone with an interest in comic relief or sports records and only too painfully obvious to its paying supporters who have to trek to a giant swamp in order to watch the team they love struggle during the first half, then return dejectedly to give up the second half, seemingly motivationless.

Red Bull Corp.: build what you want, the rot still remains. We need more than a stadium, we need A PLAN for how we’re going to build a team, a staff we can support. We need answers. And there have been none.

I hate hate hate writing negative comments here, but as no one inside the club seems to be listening to the PAYING, SEASON-TICKET HOLDING, ENTIRE TEAM HISTORY-LONG SUPPORTING fans (except the players, who’ve had to play out of position, through injury, with a sitting duck manager, despite inadequate bench backup, in the same albeit tinkered 4-5-1 formation all season), I have to take my shots where I can.

Red Bull Corp., clean your house!

A useful clean up system for when NYRB lays a steaming turd on the middle of the field.

Nice stadium, nice field, thats all well and good. We also expect a good team, and a good coach. We dont have the latter, and if we dont get it, were not going to be seeing much of the great field and wonderful stadium, we would be happier if you had posted that we just fired Juan Carlos Osorio, that would show Red Bull actually cares about the fans and the team. We should have a reasonable expectation that we can win matches, we dont and we need that or else all of the fans who have remained (NOT MANY) will also join the rest and stop coming to watch loss after loss, and excuse after excuse.

It’s unbelievable that neither RBR nor Steaming Pile Of Crap Stover, nor Fuming Pile of Crap Agoos nor INCENDIARY DUNE OF CRAP Osorio so much as acknowledge receipt of our comments and thoughts. That’s the LEAST we deserve after following this joke of a franchise for 13 fackin’ years!!

    RICHIE WILLIAMS FOR COACH!!

    Come on, boys and girls!

    RICHIE WILLIAMS FOR COACH!!

    LOL at katman’s post.

Well done, brother. Gotta laugh at a time like this. 😦

A team born and raised in New Jersey yet called “New York”. At least Metrostars was vague.
A team named after a junk-food product. (Let’s hope they don’t sell the naming rights to Hostess Twinkies!)
A team that has consistently sold or traded away top its talent yet can’t understand why it’s so hard to post W’s.
A team with a new stadium that’s the envy of the league. Might as well be the world’s most expensive commode!
A team who’s games are now so quiet you can hear the attendance drop!
A team (dare I say a league) that requires a massive physic.
I see better pick-up games in the park!
You folks (MLS/NYRB) better get it together. The kids who grew up on soccer, who were going to be your audience, know enough about the sport to recognize you’re selling an inferior product. Glitz…no substance. Foreign futbol fans know this already.
Soccer, like most team sports, is a battle recreation. How do you inspire local citizens and maintain their support when you hire weak generals to lead subprime mercenaries to fight our battles under another region’s flag.
Lastly, move the league schedule to that of the rest of the futbol/soccer world. This summer play sucks.

That’s it. AAaargh! Sorry. Hope somebody sees this where it may have some impact. After last Saturday’s fiasco the pressure was too much. Otherwise, I might have drop kicked the cat.

  9. Lou Says:

Yeah how about showing where you practice and play some respect by calling the team ny/nj red bulls

  10. Matt Says:

The vacuum system – another thing that will suck at Red Bull Arena.

  11. F.R.A.N Says:

RICHIE WILLIAM IS DEFF NOT GOOD TO BE A COACH. WE NEED A WHOLE DIFFERENT STAFF. FIRE ALL OF THEM!

    • lou Says:

How can you say that? do you have any idea what you’re talking about? He has proved in the past that he is more than capable of being an interim head coach, and i’m sure he can do it again. Many teams regard him as good enough to be head coach, and he knows the league and players like the back of his hand.

  12. Louisville Heating Installation Says:

Will this system incorporate any heating tactics that will dry the Kentucky bluegrass? As the standing water won’t be the issue anymore, but the grass will still be slick.

Superb blog! Do you have any hints for aspiring writers?
I’m hoping to start my own website soon but I’m a little lost on everything.
Would you propose starting with a free platform like WordPress or go for a paid option?
There are so many choices out there that I’m completely confused .. Any recommendations? Many thanks!

But there is a great replacement, and if the diet doesn’t really make nutritional sense, then avoid it because of that, most processed foods are absolutely loaded with chemicals and preservatives. Dieting 2011 brings too much focus on diet overhaul rather than proper diet. In summary, cookie Dieting 2011 provides all the benefits of a healthy body without a healthy mind, body, and you will be ‘losing’ anything.
