The team went through final preparations today before taking on Chivas USA tomorrow night at 7 PM at Giants Stadium.  Jorge Rojas, Dane Richards, and Carlos Johnson were all full participants, though Juan Pablo Angel is still listed as questionable, along with Mac Kandji.  This could be the first time we see Carlos Johnson in a Red Bulls uniform since his foot was broken in a collision during the match at Giants Stadium against the Houston Dynamo on Saturday, May 16, a span of nearly three months (minus one day).  RBR asked some players about the matchup with Chivas USA, and here is what they had to say:

Both videos show up as private, RBR.

  2. Red Bulls Reader Says:

    Sorry about that. All fixed.

  3. Cindy Says:

glad to see Carlos Johnson back to health! here’s hoping he doesn’t run into Stuart Holden again anytime soon.

    • red9fan Says:

That is about all this bunch of Soccer Imposters are Good at, giving Cheap Shots and Getting Red Cards, Having Johnson Back is the Same as Having Pietravallo out there. Hopefully Zimmermann and Obster, and the Very Fragile Kanji can get some Time.. Angel may be done with the Red Bulls, that does not make me sad either.

      • lou Says:

kandji is out for another week and angel will probibly not be playing so that leaves us with no forwards. I think zimmerman would play well up top, maybe better than he has played on the wings. Perhaps him paired up with richards up top will work out, not because richards can do anything, but because i would rather have a useless player up top that can draw some interest from the defenders with zimmerman than no one at all. Zimmerman is big so he can hold the ball up, quick and skillful enough to create on his own, and he has a good shot, any other coach may have tried him at forward already but we have to remember that we are dealing with an idiot in JCO.

  4. jason Says:

    haha true Cindy

  5. Mentz Says:

The age old question to who wins a fight…

Stuart Holden vs. Carlos Johnson vs. Red Colored Plastic Cards

  6. afrim Says:

holden wins if its an MLS match…johnson wins hands down if its a concacaf road wcq game for the US

  7. Karbaz Says:

A question for all, if we lose this game (which probably will happen let’s face it) will it be the last straw for Agoos and JCO or do you think they (red bull ownership) will wait till the end of the season to fire these goofs? i can’t honestly believe these two are in there plans next season, hell most of the players won’t be.

Here’s hoping one more loss gets us what we all want, Agoos and JCO fired.

    • vic Says:

RB is doing the stupid thing and trying to hire a coach outright. apparently they don’t want to fuss with richie williams as interim. they’d rather have dead man walking JCO coach a team that’s not his anymore.

    • lou Says:

they won’t be fired if (and when) we lose tomorrow. Everything that was important this season has been lost and they still have their jobs, why should a loss tomorrow be any different? Face it Red Bull doesn’t care about the supporters and they never will. We should recreate the boston tea party, except this time we can toss crates of red bull into the hudson and boycott their nasty energy drink (deleted). All they care about is energy drink sales so maybe that will hit them where it hurts.

  8. C. Says:

How in God’s name is Osorio still employed?!?!?! I seriously want an answer. How in the hell is he still working???!!!! He should have been fired months ago! I’ve never seen anything like this in all of sports. This organization can’t even fire people effectively.

  9. Alle Says:

If we don’t have Angel and/or Kandji, expect another boring game up top. We need goals damnit, and we need a CLEAN sheet. Let Bouna start, you can’t just bench him because of one game, look at Cepero, his mistakes were worse!

    • Lou Says:

Yea but I can’t remember cepero ever having that bad of a game. At times he has been our best player and has saved us from goals with an occasional outstanding save, why doesn’t he deserve the start?

      • Alle Says:

I;m aware, but I’m only saying that because I’d like to have another look at Coundoul in goal while I’m actually at the stadium. He needs a second chance sooner or later anyway!

  10. red9fan Says:

Lou, Angel wants no part of this, we may have seen the last of him in a Red Bull Uniform.

    • lou Says:

In my opinion that most likely is a terrible thing but pietrovallo is already gone and rojas as well as celadas are most likely going to share his fate. That gives us an extra 425k and it’s 400k for a dp slot. Factor that in with the fact that if angel leaves next year we will have our second dp slot open and than it starts to look like we may actually end up coming out of this thing Ok. A DP slot essentially means we can sign anyone no matter how high profile, so just think of the possiblites, maybe simao (great player on his way out, good for the portguese fans) and with the second DP slot maybe henry at the summer tranfer window when his barcelona season is over.

  11. Karbaz Says:

Angel says he would like to stay here for at least another year. I have a feeling there trying to convince him that he’s gonna get a pretty decent strike partner for the opening of the stadium. that’s just my opinion.

  12. francis Says:

I think it is safe to say that NYRedbull’s post season hopes are over. I believe the 2010 season should be the focus now. What do you think the nick name should be for RedBull arena? I think it should be called the hover craft, because it looks like the hover crafts used by the US marines.

  13. jason Says:

hey Lou the stadium is beautifull just the players in the sstadium arent the best or not even good

    • Lou Says:

Yeah Jason that’s what I just said, the stuff that’s inside it, not the building itself. Read more carefully

  14. Mentz Says:

Honestly I expect at least half the roster for this season will be gone. Celades, Rojas, Boyens (and maybe Pacheco) will be hasta luego soon.
