The team traveled down to Trinidad yesterday and will train today in preparation for Thursday night’s CONCACAF Champions League opener with Caribbean champion W Connection in the away leg of the aggregate goal series.

The team’s flight out of Newark, scheduled for 2:15 pm didn’t lift off until 3:15 pm, which gave the team a glimpse of what the day held in store for them, as their connection from Miami to Trinidad, scheduled for 6:45 pm didn’t lift off until 7:45 pm, which made for a some serious down time in Miami International.

The flight finally arrived in Port of Spain, Trinidad at 11:10 pm ET (there is no time change) with a fully booked flight, which always makes for a comfortable trip.

Being an international trip, customs was the next obstacle for the weary travelers.  The full party made it through at about 12:30 am.  Following a 30 minute bus ride, the team arrived at the host hotel and had a meal before finally getting some shuteye at after 2:00 am.

This morning, the team had breakfast and took in the 40 minute ride to the stadium for a training session.  One note: unlike the U.S., they drive on the left side of the road in Trinidad.
