I love Angel. In his day, he was a joy to watch. Sadly, his day has passed.

gb, Well put and since it is Obvious that the Team needs to be completely rebuilt can the Red Bulls possibly get out of his Contract and release him?

  2. Dave Says:

Uhhh. Have they been watching Angel play this season?

  3. Lou Says:

I guess this was last year’s angel.

  4. emilio Says:

rbr, this must be a joke, I thought it was april fools day for awhile

  5. Steve Says:

I don’t Angel getting out of his contract. However, I think it would be nice if didn’t play much the rest of the season. Staying off the turf and get healthy for next season should be his priority now. Especially considering we have nothing to play for. No sense making him any worse.

    • red9fan Says:

Angel has very little desire anymore, he is probably more fed up than hurt. If they are Going to keep him they had better get someone who can play the ball right to his Feet. If that is the Game you all want to see it will just be more of the same boring Bullshit they play know.

  6. Lou Says:

He may be hurt, but it’s obvious he doesn’t want to be here. He is in the twilight years of his career, and for the first time is forced to deal with a complete failure of a team. I don’t think he can coap with that. Hopefully he finishes out the year like the angel we know he can be, otherwise i wouldn’t be against signing someone else big (aimar).

Lou, I agree with you and Angel is a Great Player, but they need to add Speed, the League is Running right by us. Strip it down and Start Over.

  7. Lou Says:

Speed is good, but i’ll take a soccer player over speed anyday. We set out this season with the soul purpose of becoming the fastest team in the league. We traded away our slowest player VDB, and than acquired oduro, khano, to add to the speedsters we already had in kandji, mbuta, and richards and look how our season has turned out. Right now we need to get back to playing soccer. Their is no point in having speed if we can’t retain possesion.
Angel might not be fast but he is an amazing finisher and player. His main problem isn’t his lack of speed, but rather his lack of desire. If we were to get rid of him we would need a similar player. Someone who could hold the ball up, and finish his chances, someone who complements kandji. Now if this player is also fast, than fine that will be an added bonus. Players like Dilly Duka are such intriguing prospects because they possess speed as well as a great soccer mind and touch. So naturally i hope we can bring him up.

Lou, I can agree with you, and I have to say that right now something has to happen, this Season is already over and it is getting hard to watch and support this Team.

  8. Lou Says:

No doubt about that red9fan, and this season ended weeks ago.

  9. Cindy Says:

this was based off last season, which after his long layoff from injury, is quite justifiable. good luck to him but i imagine Schelotto’s got this one

  10. emilio Says:

Angel is not a great player and he never has been, he is a finisher who hasnt been finishing this year, he does not create anything on his own, he needs to be set up to do anything. If he doesnt receive perfect balls he does nothing, on a bad team a player like him is always exposed. A great player is a player who can create his own chances and can set up team mates as well as finish off his chances.
