RED BULL IRON CHEF

The New York Red Bulls will trade in their soccer boots for aprons and take part in the first annual Red Bulls “Iron Chef” Cook-Off at ESPN Zone on Tuesday, August 19 in Times Square.

The “Iron Chef”-style competition will pit more than a dozen Red Bulls players against each other in a culinary showdown featuring healthy cooking tips and recipes along with some friendly competition. The players will have 30 minutes to create an entrée, which will then be judged by a panel of experts, media members and teammates. Judging criteria will include taste, presentation and creativity.

Players scheduled to compete in the event include Jon Conway, Hunter Freeman, Chris Leitch, Kevin Goldthwaite, Jeff Parke, Seth Stammler, John Wolyniec, Danleigh Borman, David Roth, Luke Sassano, Caleb Patterson-Sewell, Mike Palacio, John Gilkerson and Gordon Klijestan.

The event is a media-exclusive event and will be closed to the public.  However, Red Bulls Reader will be there to cover the event and will report back with news, interviews, and video.  But hopefully not indigestion or heartburn.

Do you think the Red Bulls will be able to cook something edible?  Who would you think could be a chef for the club?
