After a year of waiting, Red Bull Brasil achieved their goal of being promoted to Serie A3 of the Campeonato Paulista. Early on Sunday, the team, led by head coach Jair Picerni, defeated Desportivo Brazil, 2-1, at the Moisés Lucarelli Stadium in Campinas, Sao Paulo.
The Red Bulls opened the scoring after just two minutes, when midfielder Luciano Mandi crossed the ball from the left and striker Alex Raphael redirected the ball to the back post, hitting back of the net for his sixth goal of the competition.
After the goal, both teams utilized counter attack opportunities in order to survive the match. Red Bull Brasil had its second chance at the 12th minute, while Desportivo’s attack forced saves on the 14th and the 15th minutes.
The equalizer came on the 15th minute, after a corner kick, where Edu Bayer took advantage of the set piece and tied the match for Desportivo Brasil, 1-1.
The winning goal came in the first half, when left-back Jefferson placed a cross into the area from the right side, which Cezar nodded in for his 13th goal of the competition.
In the second half, Cezar twice more threatened the Desportivo net in the 58th and 65th minutes, but both shots went wide of net.
“Everything that we had planned happened,” said Picerni. “The players have earned this result, for they have been very responsive to what we ask. This is a winning group.”

Congrats to them! It might be a good idea to start looking into a deal or two with this club, one of their strikers would be nice (Who did we talk about before? Was it Cezar?)
