RICHARDS CALLED UP BY JAMAICA

The team announced today that midfielder Dane Richards was called up by the Jamaican National Team for its friendly against Argentina on Wednesday in Mar del Plata, Argentina. He’s expected to return to the U.S. later this week.

Richards, who has earned 12 caps for Jamaica, is starting his fourth season in MLS with the Red Bulls. Last season, the former 2007 MLS Rookie of the Year finalist scored three goals and two assists in 27 appearances. Richards joined New York from Clemson University after being drafted in the second round (19th overall) in the 2007 MLS SuperDraft. Good luck to Dane!

ACADEMY PRESEASON RECAP: FLORIDA CAMP

The New York Red Bulls Academy returned home to the Northeast after a successful preseason camp in Bradenton, FL.  The week consisted of two-a-day training and also scrimmages against the US U17 MNT Residency program that is based in Bradenton at the IMG Academy.

“The training camp was a great experience for the Academy players. We try and create a professional environment year round for the players and  taking them away for a week of preseason just like our first team is just another way to achieve this,” said u18 coach Paul O’Donnell.

The Red Bulls announced an on-line fan voting contest to elect the club’s all-time First XI line-up. The honorees will be announced at the Red Bulls’ 2010 Media Day on Tuesday, March 16 at Red Bull Arena. So make sure that you vote!  The club also unveiled the uniform patch for their inaugural season at Red Bull Arena.

Beginning today and running through Friday, March 5, vote at www.NewYorkRedBulls.com/FirstXI for the best players in franchise history. Also, enter for a chance to be included in the on-field ceremony at Red Bull Arena prior to the first kick of the 2010 MLS season on Saturday, March 27 against the Chicago Fire. RED BULL ARENA CONSTRUCTION TIME-LAPSE: SEPTEMBER 2009

Here is the next installment of our Red Bull Arena construction time-lapse.  This edition shows the progress made during the month of September, 2009.  In this installment, the translucent roof panels continue to be installed on the north side of the building, and more work is done on the entry stairways.
