RBR IN GHANA: THE TOUR

Earlier today, Red Bull Academy’s Hermann Kern and Peter Schaller were kind enough to give Matthew Mbuta and RBR a personal tour of the facility in Sogakope, Ghana. As you’ll see in the video, the academy’s facilities are very impressive and are continuing to grow in this soccer hotbed. In addition, take note of the unique private school that is offered to each of the academy players, some of whom come from African countries outside of Ghana including Cote D’Ivoire, Benin and Nigeria:

RBR IN GHANA: IMPRESSIVE START

RBR is here at the Red Bull Academy in Sogakope, Ghana, located almost an hour and a half east of the capital of Accra. Though we’ll get into some more detail later on our trip, there is one word that comes to mind when describing this facility: Impressive.

RED BULL ARENA CONSTRUCTION TIME-LAPSE: MAY 2009

Here is the next installment of our Red Bull Arena construction time-lapse.  This edition shows the progress made during the month of May, 2009.  We can see more progress as the west building continues to be enclosed, but even moreso, we see the first of the translucent roof panels being installled.

RED BULLS ACADEMY ON CAMPUS UPDATE

In Red Bulls Readers’ ongoing effort to keep you, the supporters of the club, as up to date as possible with what is going on with the first team and beyond, we add Red Bulls Academy On Campus to our galaxy of stars.  Academy products are translating the success they had in the Academy system to the collegiate level.  After the jump is the report for November 11-November 17.

EXPANSION DRAFT SET FOR NOV. 25

The date for the MLS Expansion Draft has been announced, and Wednesday, November 25 will be the date.  On that day, the first 10 members of the Philadelphia Union will be selected, as 10 MLS players will be moving to the City of Brotherly Love for Thanksgiving.  The rules for the draft are after the jump, but RBR would like to hear from you guys on who you would protect if you were running the team.  Share your thoughts in the comments section.
